The president has endorsed both candidates for the second time in a row over their positions in the Indiana Senate. The endorsements are largely due to their support for Republican principles, rather than their political stance. The authorizations for these endorsements have been criticized as insufficient. The publisher of the book, however, has not stated that it will not be the first time they have endorsed the candidates.
