Ellie Carrasquillo, a mother of a 16-year-old son at Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights, has launched a petition calling for the closure of all Parma City Schools for the rest of the week following the shooting. She says she spent hours not knowing if her son would be alive after the shooting and did not receive any notification from the school until 4:53 p.m., more than two and a half hours after school. The gun used in the shooting was reportedly owned by a family member of the student. Both Valley Forge and Normandy High Schools will remain closed through Thursday before reopening on Friday.
