Classes resumed at Pauls Valley High School in Oklahoma after a shooting left the principal injured. Principal Kirk Moore stopped the shooter before any students were harmed. Ranae Sprowls received a call from her son, a junior at the high school, informing her coworker, Coty Tharp, who was unable to reach her for 30 minutes due to the "bell-to-earth" act. The district brought local law enforcement and counselors to every campus to support students.
