US judges advised to disclose event donors under new ethics policy

U.S. Supreme Court justices and federal judges may need to disclose contributions from law firms, bar associations, and former clients to fund receptions or celebrations in their honor. The new ethics guidance also includes contributions from outside organizations or individuals associated with special events if the judges otherwise would have paid for all or part of the event's costs. Some judges had previously disclosed ceremony-related contributions prior to the policy's implementation.
