A coalition led by UNLV's School of Public Health, NVax, aims to address gaps in vaccination rates across Nevada. The coalition was formed due to Nevada's ranking among the lowest in the nation for on-time childhood vaccinations and high rates of non-medical exemptions. Adult vaccination rates, including for influenza, also lag behind national averages. While over 90% of children in Nevada are fully vaccinated by the age of school, the remaining 10% presents challenges. The short term goals for the coalition are to build up membership, including providers, patients, parents, policymakers, school districts, and more. The goal is to provide clear information so families can make informed decisions about vaccinations.
