The shooting near the White House left bullet holes, damages to nearby businesses and buildings, and reminders of the incident can be found all along Pennsylvania Avenue. The gunman, Nasire Best, of Dundalk, Md, was identified as having a series of mental health issues and had been ordered to stay away from White House. No Secret Service agents were injured in the attack. The White House History Shop has not replaced its damaged windows. The suspect died after being taken to the hospital, with one other person injured but expected to survive.
