The historic Barker Mansion in Michigan City, Indiana, is set to reopen to the public after three months of closure for refurbishing projects. The mansion, built in 1905 by railroad industrialist John H. Barker, will be open from May through December, with expanded programming and special events scheduled throughout the season. The reopening comes with an announcement about a new season of tours, programs and events. Approximately 90% of the mansion's original furnishings, art and collections remain intact, anchored in the locations and interior design landscapes as the family intended. The site is also available for private rentals and is a unique setting for gatherings, celebrations and corporate events. A new concert event featuring a new exhibit featuring items from the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair is scheduled for May 9.
