He suggested that the president may decide to put U.S. troops on the ground in Iran, despite not having ruled out this. Brennan also noted that his actions during his second term have led him to believe that Trump holds a short-term view of his administration’s policies. He added that his decision to proceed with the military operation in Iran was made without consideration of the strategic implications of the operation. Since the launch of joint strikes on Iran in February, retaliatory drone strikes from Iran have killed seven service members.
