Jason Kushmaul, a 50-year-old Louisiana man accused of sexually assaulting three minors over 20 years ago, has pleaded no contest to charges in a 49th Circuit Court in Osceola County, Michigan. He was initially charged in 2016 after the victims reported the assaults, but had already left the state. Kushmax was extradited from Tennessee under Operation Survivor Justice, a partnership between Nessel's office and the Marshals Service to arrest Michigan fugitive offenders with outstanding sexual assault warrants. He will be sentenced on May 15 and faces up to life in prison.
