WHO is hosting a virtual webinar, Indigenous Leadership for Health, a virtual preparation for the 25th Session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII 2026), organised by WHO, the Government of Brazil, the Philippines, and the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health. The event aims to bring together Indigenous leaders to help shape the WHO Global Plan of Action on the Health of Indigenous Peoples (GPoA). The webinar will be divided into two parts: Part I, Part II, Part I will provide an update on the process for development of the Global Plan, and Part II will highlight Indigenous leadership, knowledge systems, and community-driven approaches that contribute to improving the health and well-being of these individuals.
