This new rail station on one of the UK’s busiest train lines is being built next to an old nuclear bunker

Plans to expand Alconbury Weald in Cambridgeshire to include a train station on one of the UK's busiest train lines, potentially connecting the town to the East Coast Main Line. The owner of the site, Urban&Civic, plans to add 1,000 more houses and a new railway station to the existing 6,500 homes. The proposal has been supported by the mayor of Cambridgedhire and Peterborough. If approved, Alconberry Weald Station would be built on the Eastco Main Line and provide land for the construction. Public consultation is open until March 23.
