American youths are miserable — despite happier young people in the rest of the world

The 14th edition of the World Happiness Report has revealed that despite Gen Zers living in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, they are less contented in the rest of the world. The report suggests that social media use may contribute to a larger youth happiness drop in these countries than in other countries. However, it also noted differences in how social media are used in these English-speaking countries. The study also found that young people who use social media for less than an hour a day had the highest levels of well-being, even more than social media abstainers. Finland leads the world in happiness for a ninth consecutive year, with an average score of 7.8 out of 10.
