Terry Tempest Williams, a renowned writer and Guggenheim fellow, has published over 20 books and won many awards for her work, including numerous awards. She is also a member of the Academy of Arts and Letters, a teacher, conservationist, activist, and a sixth-generation Utahn. Her new book, "The Glorians," was published in March and follows a transition from a decade away from her hometown to Salt Lake City. Williams, who is a descendant of Brigham Young, has been living in Castle Valley, where she has had a home for 30 years and has spent much of her 70 years exploring the natural splendor of her home state. After leaving the University of Utah, Williams was offered a writer-in-residence position at the Harvard Divinity School and has been teaching there ever since. She believes that her approach to navigate despair with a changing climate is a different form of attention and hopeful approach that she uses to keep us present.
