Journalist and Author Connie Schultz Elevates Overlooked Voices

Connie Schultz, a longtime journalist, columnist and author, has won a Pulitzer Prize for her work elevating overlooked voices in society. She has served as a professor at Kent State University and now at Denison University. Her columns for the Cleveland Plain Dealer have been lauded for their voice for the underprivileged. Her 2003 feature series about Michael Green, a man who spent 13 years in prison for a rape he did not commit, led to his confession and a five-year sentence. Despite her success, Schultz shares her vision for an America that prioritizes the protection of every child regardless of their race or ethnicity or circumstances of their birth.
