A bill is moving through the Tennessee legislature would ban cryptocurrency ATMs across the state. Supporters argue that these machines have become a tool for scammers to quickly transfer money that is difficult to recover. The proposed legislation would make it illegal to operate cryptocurrency ATMS in Tennessee, making them a Class A misdemeanor. Unlike traditional bank transactions, cryptocurrency transfers cannot easily be reversed. If approved by lawmakers and signed by the governor, Tennessee would become the second state in the country to prohibit such machines.
