Cal Ritchie, the former Oshawa Generals vice president and general manager, has been performing well for the New York Islanders, with a four-game point streak in January and a five-game run in which he scored six points. This performance has impressed both Roger Hunt and Islanders head coach Patrick Roy. Ritchie was acquired by the Islanders at the trade deadline last season for $10,000. He has been praised for his skill set and ability to translate it to the next level of hockey.
