Eve, a new Durham bar named after Uma Ramiah and Jessica “Bre” Breland, has been transformed into a new space named Eve, themed around a reclaimed, feminist Garden of Eden. The bar's owners, who originally hired contractors to build out the space, took the construction process into their own hands. The resulting space is lush, textured, and libraryesque, with tall wooden shelves, shelves, and exotic plants. Eve, which opened at the end of February, regularly hosts events and is available for private rentals. It is open to all, but is soundly woman-centered, with a focus on local female entrepreneurs, artists, and comedians, and sourcing women-owned producers. The space previously housed Atomic Fern, a board game bar, was used as storage until Eve opened.
