Indianapolis-based custom vinyl manufacturer Romanus Records will host a label showcase and celebration at the Historic Artcraft Theatre next week. The event will feature a documentary screening, live performances by three bands and a custom vinyl giveaway. The label, founded by Chris Banta ten years ago, is known for its innovative manufacturing techniques, which include embedding liquids, sand and other unconventional materials in its records. Banta, a Franklin native, organized the event to showcase independent art in a traditional theater setting. The evening will also feature a vinyl giveaway featuring glow-in-the-dark, sand-filled records made for artist Uzi Vert and releases from Doom Gong.
