Video surveillance startup Conntour has raised $7M from General Catalyst, YC to build an AI search engine for security video systems. The company uses AI models to search camera feeds in real-time, which can also detect threats based on preset rules and surface alerts automatically. The platform can be deployed fully on premises or on the cloud, and can be used to monitor up to 50 camera feeds off a single consumer GPU like Nvidia’s RTX. However, the company's biggest technical challenge is improving the quality of surveillance footage captured. ConntOUR's CEO, Matan Goldner, stated that his company is selective about which clients it will partner with due to its large government and publicly-listed customers, including Singapore's Central Narcotics Bureau.
