BBC Layoffs to Impact 2,000 Jobs as Part of Major Cost-Cutting Plan

The BBC is set to cut up to 10% of its workforce in a cost-cutting initiative, announced by interim director general Rhodri Talfan Davies. The cuts are part of the BBC's £600 million ($815 million) plan to cut costs over the next three years. The announcement comes before Matt Brittin will take over as director general. The BBC has reported over half a billion in savings over the past three years, largely reinvesting into its output.
