The first trial over the death of Argentina football legend, Maradona, will begin in 2025 after one of the three judges allegedly allowed unauthorised filming in court for a documentary. The case is classified as culpable homicide, a crime similar to involuntary manslaughter. If convicted, these individuals could face between eight and 25 years in prison. The trial will take place at a court in San Isidro, with around 100 witnesses expected to testify.
