The Epilepsy Advocacy Network hosted its second year-long education conference in Champaign, Illinois. The group's founding director, Erika Fleck, was diagnosed at 30 and is now trying to provide more accessible care for others. The organization has offices and assistance in over 60 counties in and around Central Illinois, providing support groups, case coordination, and seizure first aid training. This year, the group added a significant component to their fight against the condition by focusing on mental health. Shaun Webb, a board member for the network, credits the support he received from the group for helping him cope with the disease.
