BMK has released a new electric car, the BMW i3, which is set to compete with the Tesla Model 3 in a tough market for legacy automakers. The i3 was revealed in Germany and emphasizes the heritage of the "3" in its name. It is the second BMW on the Neue Klasse platform after the iX3 SUV. The car will initially be available as a dual-motor, all-wheel drive version with 463 horsepower and a battery with a 109-kWh capacity, along with a 15.4-kW onboard charger and peak charging at 400 kW. It will support bidirectional charging and vehicle-to-grid settings, but will also come with a port in Tesla-style NACS charging port built in the open-air Supercharger station.
