Oleg Arreola, a Modesto man, has been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a felon in connection with a fentanyl and firearm trafficking conspiracy in Stanislaus County. The Department of Justice alleges that he was involved in a drug and firearm ring uncovered during "Operation Blue Death," an investigation targeting fentanyl pill distribution and illegal firearm sales in the county. The operation led to the arrest of seven people between September 2022 and June 2023. Co-defendant Arturo Madrid allegedly sold multiple firearms and thousands of fentanyl pills during March and April 2023, along with a Draco PAK-9 9 mm rifle. Other defendants include Andrew Madrid, Andrew Rodriguez, and Enrique Cruz DeLeon, who are set to go to trial on September 22 and face a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a potential life sentence.
