Funding for additional wildlife crossings in Wyoming uncertain

The National Parks Conservation Association (NPA) is urging Congress to invest in more wildlife crossings and measures to improve safety for visitors and wildlife alike. The association and other advocates are urging a permanent $200 million annual fund for wildlife crossings. Bart Melton, senior director of wildlife for the NPA, said there are an average of 7,600 big game collisions each year in Wyoming. The National Park Service currently maintains over 5,600 miles of roads across the country, many of which are in need of maintenance or replacement.
