The Justice Department has settled a lawsuit brought by former Trump campaign adviser, Carter Page, who sued the Department and FBI over flawed government surveillance due to his Russian contacts in 2016. The lawsuit was initially dismissed by a federal judge, but upheld an appeals court ruling that Page had not sued the people who conducted the surveillance. Page is one of a growing number of past Trump allies who have reached legal settlements with the administration during Trump's second term. The settlement does not involve individual defendants. This settlement follows another settlement with Michael Flynn, who was awarded over $50 million following a wrongful prosecution.
