At many Utah restaurants, tips still lag

New data from Toast indicates that Utah is still among the lowest tip-paying states in the nation, with 18.8% on average in Q4 2025, compared to the national average of 19.5%. However, larger states like California, Texas, and New York were outperforming. The report also revealed that quick-service restaurant tips in Utah were at 15.3%, below the national averages of 15.8%. Meanwhile, Delaware, West Virginia, New Hampshire and Indiana are among the top five states for overall tipping.
