Mexico opens probe into economy minister over son's stay in diplomatic residence

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has initiated an investigation into Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard over his son's six-month stay at a diplomatic residence in the UK. The probe will determine whether Ebrad violated any laws when he sent his son to the residence. The son had a butler, a cook and cleaning staff at his disposal during his stay. The investigation could exacerbate tensions between Sheinbram and Ebrardo, who are currently leading Mexico's negotiations with the United States and Canada to renew a trilateral trade agreement.
