The United States has temporarily removed its sanctions on Russian oil shipments in an effort to reduce the impact of the country's ongoing war with Iran. The decision was made after a general license was issued by the Treasury Department allowing Russia to sell 128 million barrels of oil, which are estimated to have already been loaded onto several tankers. The license expires after 30 days.
