The Department of Justice (DOD) is moving to change its requirements that federal prosecutors must have prior work experience to be hired. This move is being hailed as a positive change by the Department of Human Rights (D) and as a way to attract young legal talent. The changes will be implemented to fill positions in Alaska, Louisiana, Minnesota, Montana and South Florida. While new postings for these areas no longer list a minimum work requirement, other districts require a longer work history, up to three years. The change comes as the DOJ and Attorney General Pam Bondi have faced criticism for their politicization of the DOJ, their handling of high-profile cases and for their inability to fully redact sensitive information about victims.
