Gaming regulator suggests an NBA arena and team at this Strip resort

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has recommended licensing for Carlos Castro, a top executive at Resorts World Las Vegas, who claims to have resolved regulatory compliance issues and plans to lead a resurgence on the north Strip. Castro, who was president, secretary and treasurer of the resort, was asked to use vacant land at the Strip property to build an arena for use by an NBA expansion team. One board member suggested using vacant land for concerts and other events. The Nevada Gaming Commission will consider final approval on March 26. Several other Southern Nevada companies have expressed interest in building an NBA-ready arena for potential expansion.
