The documentary Hell's Army, directed by Oscar-nominated Richard Rowley, premiered at the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival (CPH:DOX). The film follows the rise of the Wagner Group, the most feared mercenary army in the world, from its origins to its death. Rowley followed Russian journalist Katya and an exiled police detective, Denis, as they traced the origins of the mercenary group and its enigmatic leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin. The documentary was written and directed by Rowley and produced by Richard Butler, Atanas Georgiev, Odessa Rae, Rebecca Teitel and Caitlin McNally. The film includes scenes where audiences are told they cannot be shown certain people or face danger. Rowly also experienced significant security measures while working with the Dossier Center, an investigative organization funded by Russian dissident Mikhail Khodorkovsky.
