Democratic Rep. Pat Ryan (N.Y.), an Army veteran, has accused President Trump of not looking out for U.S. troops during the operation against Iran, which has resulted in the death of three American service members so far. Ryan described the president's lack of answers to reporters on the deaths as "pathetic". He also criticized the president for bypassing congressional approval and carrying out the strikes. As of 9:30 a.m. EST Sunday, three service members have been killed, five seriously wounded, and several others have minor injuries or concussions.
