'Michael': Michael Jackson Movie Eyes $55M+ Record Musical Biopic Opening

Lionsgate's Michael, a musical biopic of Michael Jackson, is expected to open at least $55M-$60M when it opens on April 24. This surpasses the previous record set by a musical film, Bohemian Rhapsody. Despite competition from big movies such as Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Project Hail Mary, the film is well ahead of its competitors. The film premiered in Berlin on April 10 and is set to be released globally.
