The 51st Chaplin Award Gala, held at Lincoln Center, celebrates the individual's significant contributions to cinema. The award was named after its first recipient, Charlie Chaplin, who returned from exile in 1972 to accept the award. Among the attendees were former ER co-star Julianna Margulies, Sam Rockwell, and Georgia Heers. The gala is considered the largest fundraiser for the institution.
