Bill Maher is set to receive the 2026 Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at a gala at The Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. on June 28. This will be the 27th recipient of the award, the first since the recently renaming Trump Kennedy Center. The gala will be streamed exclusively on Netflix for the third consecutive year. Maher, who has received 42 Primetime Emmy nominations but only won one once, as an executive producer of the HBO series Vice. He will also be the oldest recipient since David Letterman in 2017 and the oldest-ever recipient was Carol Burnett.
