Hungarians voted Prime Minister Viktor Orbán out of office, ending his 16-year rule with a record turnout. Orbán conceded the 2026 Hungarian parliamentary election to his former ally, Péter Magyar, who is projected to win about two-thirds of the Hungarian National Assembly's seats. The election marked one of the highest turnouts of a recent Hungarian election. Despite differences between the two leaders on foreign policy, Orbán and his opponent both supported the European Union (EU) and the country's guest worker program.
