King Charles III's state visit to the US should be cancelled due to controversial comments by US President Donald Trump, according to Ed Davey, leader of the Liberal Democrats. The comments were made during a meeting between King Charles and President Keir ‘Starmer, who has been criticised by both parties for undermining the Special Relationship between the two countries. Davey argued that a state visit from King Charles should not be given to someone who repeatedly insults and damages Britain. He also criticised Prime Minister Keir Starmer for her comments about European troops staying off the front lines in Afghanistan, which she called "astonishing".
