A poll conducted by CRC Research for the Honest Elections Project (HEP) has found that a key election integrity issue set to be debated by the Supreme Court has overwhelming bipartisan support among the public, with 83% of Democrats, 83% independents, and 93% Republicans supporting an Election Day ballot deadline. The survey also found that while over 80% of likely voters agree with an Election day deadline, a smaller majority believe that ballots received after polls close should not be counted. Furthermore, 60% of respondents said that allowing ballots received later to be counted makes it easier to cheat. The poll's release comes just days before the court begins oral arguments on Watson v. Republican National Committee, a case regarding the constitutionality of a Mississippi state law that allows ballots postmarked by Election Day to count up to five days after polling close.
