Miguel Solis, a longtime Dallas education leader, will join our growing group of contributing columnists at The Dallas Morning News. Solis' involvement in the school system is closely connected to the turnaround of Dallas ISD over the past decade. His columns will explore questions of education, politics, and culture in Dallas and beyond. During his tenure as a trustee and president of the school board, Solis pushed for teacher and principal performance assessment reforms and expanded school choice and Pre-K programs. He also served as president of The Commit Partnership, a nonprofit focused on public education reform and excellence.
