Mayor Jacob Frey has outlined his vision for Minneapolis' future, stating that the city is at an inflection point at a crucial time in its rapidly changing times. His vision includes public safety, affordable housing supply, comprehensive permitting reform, and a commitment to a revitalized downtown Nicollet Mall. He also highlighted progress in public safety and public education, with applications up over 100% and a trajectory back to 880 police officers serving the city. Frey's vision also includes expanding affordable housing into middle- and upper-income neighborhoods, and creating a healthier city where businesses can see local government as a partner, not a barrier. He urges unity, partnership and action, calling for unity against a fascist and authoritarian federal government. Frey is currently serving his third term as mayor of Minneapolis.
