Trump threatens Democrats that he'll fix TSA himself — and it involves ICE

President Donald Trump has proposed a solution to the ongoing dispute between Congress and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which has resulted in a partial shutdown. Democrats have refused to pass the FY2026 DHS appropriations bill, while they are seeking reform at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Despite these demands, ICE is already funded through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed in 2025. President Trump suggested placing ICE agents at airports would ensure the immediate arrest of all illegal immigrants. This has led to a record high 10.22% absentee rate for the TSA.
