Top-seeded St. John's defeated No. 6 UConn 72-52 to win the Big East tournament title. The Red Storm, predicted to be a fifth seed in the NCAA Tournament, won their fifth conference tournament title and achieved the feat in consecutive seasons for the first time in school history. Zuby Ejiofor, voted the tournament's most outstanding player, scored 18 points, nine rebounds, seven blocks and three steals. The team also became the first school to go back-to-back as Big East champions since Villanova in 2017-19. Tarris Reed Jr. led by 17 points for UConn, who struggled with a season-worst 33.9% (19 of 56), missed 16 of 19 3s and committed 17 turnovers.
