Severe storms, damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes are expected in central Indiana as a cold front swings through the state. The first wave of severe weather is expected to arrive in two waves, with the potential for heavy rainfall and significant wind gusts. Damaging winds are the primary threat, with heavy rainfall possible due to repeated thunderstorms that repeatedly move over the same areas. This could lead to flooding concerns due to ongoing river flooding and overly saturated ground. Much of the state is under a wind advisory for this morning and afternoon, with wind gusting expected to reach 45 to 50 mph at times. The weather will take another active turn by the end of this weekend when another storm system moves through the Midwest, bringing showers and thunderstorms along with a surge of warm air and gusty winds.
