New Smyrna Beach, Florida, has approved a plan to replace its annual parking pass with the county's Park Volusia pass, which currently allows drivers to park on the beach and in county-owned lots. However, drivers who park in city-owned lot must also have a separate New Smyrana Beach parking pass. The change, which aims to eliminate confusion for residents and visitors, will be supported by the city and county's parking permit databases, allowing parking enforcement officers to verify county permits through a vehicle's license plate. The agreement is still pending approval from the Voluscia County Council. If approved, the new system will take effect in 2027.
