Stars struggling at ‘brutal’ PGA Championship as Alex Smalley, Maverick McNealy hold lead

The PGA Championship, known as the most docile of the four major championships, has been marred by a lack of play at Aronimink in Pennsylvania. Alex Smalley and Maverick McNealy are leading the field at 4-under par, with both shooting 69 and 67 respectively. They are trailed by six players at 3-under, including Chris Gotterup, Hideki Matsuyama, Aldrich Potgeiter, Stephan Jaeger, Min Woo Lee and Max Greyserman. Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Brooks Koepka are among several players at 2-under entering the weekend. Despite some impressive play, the PGA is becoming known for its challenging courses and setting up at ArONimink.
