The game marked the first time the Nationals have beaten the Orioles since May 16. Shane Baz of the Orioles went seven innings and allowed three runs on six hits. Litteell, who was signed as a free agent in March, improved his score to 2-4 and lowered his ERA from 6.94 to 6.10.
