'I blame them all': Travelers frustrated with Washington as shutdown drags on

Travelers are expressing sympathy for airline workers at airports and frustrated with politicians in Washington over the ongoing Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown. President Donald Trump signed a memo directing DHS to pay back to TSA workers who have missed paychecks during the agency shutdown. The money will come from the One Big Beautiful Bill, the tax-cut and spending legislation signed into law in July. Most of the back pay is expected to be received starting Monday. The impasse has led TSA workers to rely on family, friends and food banks to survive. Travelers have also experienced long wait times at airports, with security lines extending out the doors in some places.
