Lumumba Sayers Sr., a former MMA fighter and anti-violence activist, has been convicted of second-degree murder for murdering Malcolm Watson, 28, in a park in Commerce City, Colorado, in 2024. The conviction came just moments after Sayers Jr. was killed during an anti-gun rally. Prosecutors argued that Sayers intended to kill Watson in revenge for his son's shooting death. Despite initially being charged with first-degree, Sayers was acquitted and will be sentenced on July 24.
