Russia increased its fuel oil exports to Saudi Arabia in March, allowing the country to retain valuable crude that would otherwise be used for electricity. Since the European Union imposed a full embargo on Russian oil products in February 2023, Middle Eastern and Asian countries have been the main export destinations for Russia's fuel oil and VGO. Exports to Singapore and Malaysia fell 23% in March to about 1 million tons. Meanwhile, India's exports have dropped 66% month on month to just 37,000 tons.
